Interview with the dragon

Une minute de lecture

"You would think that we must eat anything within reach, but you are widely mistaken. For one, being huge doesn't mean we have to eat a lot, we don't even need to eat every day. Then why would we want to catch a prey that is merely passing by? Where is the pleasure of the hunt? No, you see, we can afford to wait, so we can be picky. How do you think we get to grow so large? Not by eating any scrawny animal, I can tell you. With the choice you humans are giving us? All this cattle you breed is a boon to us, although, I must admit, a little boring to hunt. But I shouldn't complain, it might not last if you all get into your heads of becoming vegetarians. What a pity that would be! I'm sorry to be blunt, but the next best thing for us, in term of abundance, is your species. You can talk about rabbits multiplying quickly, but it's nothing compared to humans, you don't see hordes of rabbits trying to dominate the world. I don't see why you wouldn't be back on our menu, 'intelligent' being or not. While I like a good conversation as much as the next dragon, it wouldn't keep me from having a good meal. I'm not used to socializing with my food before eating it, but now that I think of it, that might even be amusing. I'll keep that in mind. So, to answer your question: no, I do not intent to eat you. At least not yet."
