Evaluation and request for rectification

The thesis supervisor evaluates the thesis together with the co-supervisor and issues a written evaluation statement in which the completed thesis and its preparation process are assessed verbally and on the scale below, using numbers. The evaluation of the thesis is based on an assessment of both the process and the output. Approved theses will be assessed on a scale of 1 to 5, so that

5 = commendable

4 and 3 = good

2 and 1 = satisfactory.

There are six assessment points:

1. Subject matter and the thesis and dissertation process

2. knowledge base, sources and data search

3. objectives, setting and methodology, methods and materials

4. analysis, results and output and achievement of objectives

5. description of results, conclusions and reliability assessment

6. reporting: structure, layout and language.

The main principles of the evaluation are detailed in the evaluation table available in https://essayassistant.net/. The overall grade for the thesis is the average of the six sub-grades and each of the assessment points must be at least 1 for the thesis to be accepted.

The supervisor will send a signed evaluation report within three weeks of the return of the thesis by e-mail to Student Services, the student and the person responsible for the thesis process (Anu Haikansalo), who will mark the grade and the title of the thesis in Wilma. During the July and Christmas holidays, theses are not assessed, so assessment times are longer during these periods.

If the thesis writer is dissatisfied with the evaluation, he/she may submit a reasoned request for correction to the evaluating supervisor within 14 days of receiving the evaluation report. The supervisor must provide the student a written decision as soon as possible. If the thesis writer is not satisfied with the decision, he/she may appeal in writing to the University of Applied Sciences Examination Board within 14 days of being informed of the above decision.

Publication and disclosure

The School of Police and its library are granted the right to publish all theses. The theses will be submitted either to the common Theseus database of the universities of applied sciences or in printed form to the library. The printed thesis is ordered from https://essayassistant.net/buy-narrative-essay/. The delivery time is about five working days, which should be taken into account when planning your own schedule. The cost of the printed work (approx. 15 e/each) is to be paid by the student. The student is allowed to hand in the thesis
